Anne Margriet Pot Strategic Advisor Care for older people at Health and Youth Care Inspectorate
Anne Margriet Pot has been appointed as strategic advisor Care for elderly people at the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate in the Netherlands as of November 1st, 2018. In this role she will be working on the development of the supervision on care for older people, at home and in nursing homes. By doing so, she will contribute to the standards and instruments of supervision, to the strategic development of relevant knowledge, and to the development of policy and research of the IGJ.
Prof. dr. A.M. (Anne Margriet) Pot has served as a diplomat and senior health adviser Long-term care and Dementia at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva for the past four years, seconded by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Previously, she was head of the programme on Ageing at the Netherlands Institute on Mental Health and Addiction (Trimbos Institute), and lecturer and trainer of Elderly care physicians at the Faculty of Medicine at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She also worked as a clinical psychologist for various care organizations for older people.
She studied psychology at the University of Groningen and the Vrije Universiteit. She also holds a doctorate from this university. Besides, Anne Margriet Pot is professor of Clinical Geropsychology at the Vrije Universiteit.
