Pharmacovigilance (PhV)

Pharmacovigilance is the science and activities relating to the identification, assessment, understanding, and prevention of adverse effects and health problems which are related to the use of medicinal products. International legislation demands that pharmacovigilance activities are conducted by marketing authorization holders (MAHs), practitioners and authorities in a structured and coordinated manner.

As of July 2018 it is no longer necessary to register a national pharmacovigilance contact person at IGJ. You only need to do this at the MEB.
